The Balcomo is also home to Penticton’s only hotel wellness centre: a 2,200 sq ft facility with a cedar sauna, cold plunge pool, indoor hot tub, Himalayan salt room yoga and Pilates studio, and a peaceful Relaxation room with complimetary tea. No other hotel in Penticton offers this.
Outdoor Pool & Hot Tub
The Balcomo’s heated outdoor pool is one of the best places to spend a summer afternoon in Penticton. Open seasonally from May to late September, the pool deck features sun loungers, poolside service from LOCAL Public Eatery, and direct access to the courtyard and fire pit area. The outdoor hot tub runs year-round and is a favourite with guests arriving after a day on the ski slopes at Apex Mountain Resort in winter, or after a long wine tour on the Naramata Bench in summer.

Courtyard
The 2-acre courtyard at The Balcomo is what sets this property apart from every other hotel in Penticton. A walking path circles the grounds, a grassy open area is perfect for lawn games, and two propane BBQs with seating are available exclusively for guest use — no booking required. In the evening, the outdoor fire pits make the courtyard a natural gathering spot. Bring a glass of wine from LOCAL, pull up a chair, and watch the Okanagan sky do its thing.

Fitness Centre
The Balcomo’s fitness centre is open daily from 6AM–10PM, accessible with your room key card. Cardio equipment includes a treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, and spin bike. Free weights, complimentary water, and towels are provided. For a more restorative movement experience, the Wellness Centre’s yoga and Pilates salt studio is available to all hotel guests during wellness centre hours.

Outdoor Games
TheBalcomo’s courtyard is stocked with a full selection of lawn games for guests of all ages. Giant Connect Four, Ladder Ball, Bocce Ball, Cornhole, and playing cards are all available to borrow at no charge — just ask at the front desk. It’s one of the reasons families and group travellers keep coming back. The courtyard is big enough that a group of kids can run around while adults sit by the fire with a glass of Naramata Bench Rosé. That’s a pretty good Penticton evening.

Bike Station
The Balcomo’s bike station is located in the courtyard and includes an air pump, repair tools, and a secure bike rack. It’s free to use for all hotel guests. Penticton is one of the best cycling cities in BC. The Kettle Valley Rail Trail starts nearby and stretches for kilometres through the Okanagan backcountry. Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake are both easily reachable by bike from the property. Ask at the front desk for trail recommendations.
